Unarmed Combat

The possession of weapons is compulsory for all citizens in the Archaic Period, encouraged in the Classical Period, and strongly encouraged in most episkopies in the Decadent Period, so Gehennum is not fertile ground for the development of unarmed martial arts like karate or wu-shu. On the other hand, kick-boxing and wrestling are highly-developed as sports, being major events at games. Pankration (a martial art invented by Persiflex) is not so common, and is considered an adjunct to weapon skills rather than an alternative to weapons.
