Suicide
In Gehennum suicide neither has the stigma it suffered in medieval Europe nor the glory it enjoyed in medieval Japan. According to context it may be seen as honourable or cowardly, noble, tragic, or even comical. The usual method is to take poison, but slitting one’s wrists or throat is also common.
