Lokhos

A military unit, roughly equivalent to a company (nominal strength: 2 officers, 100 other ranks). The smallest unit of tactical manœuvre, a lokhos nominally consists of one hundred soldiers (including non-commissioned officers), a lokhagos, and a hypolokhagos. In peacetime, especially in the Decadent Period, lokhoi are often considerably under strength. The payroll for a company is 122 obols per day, plus 102 obols per day for panoply, in addition to bed and board for 102 men.
