An amusement, employing the skills of the game kukrim. Players stand around in the street, on the beach, or in the courtyards of buildings (preferably within sight of the windows of a gynekeum), and kick, knee, or elbow a small raffia kukrim-ball to one another. The ball may not be touched with the hand or the arm below the elbow. With this proviso, it may be caught and thrown rather than hit. Hacky-sack provides an opportunity to practise and display kukrim skills. Like kukrim, it is played mostly by young men.
