Fish

Fish from the lagoons (see coral) and seas are an important part of the diet of the Gehennese, especially those who dwell near the coast, and is the main diet of the merfolk. Fish are caught with nets and lines from boats, ships, and the shore, and are netted and speared with barbed spears by swimmers. Fish are also bred and raised in fish-farms in estuaries and swamps, protected and confined by levees, weirs, and fences of bamboo stakes. See food, and fish sauce.
