Fairon

An archipelago of windswept and rather bleak islands about 1 860 km south-south-east of Thekla, well beyond the Gehennum archipelago. Fairon is much smaller than Gehennum, and is populated by a pale-complexioned race who migrated from the far south.

In the Classical Period and the Decadent Period Faironese pirates come often to Gehennum to trade and to indulge in kidnap and piracy. Kidnap victims are often held in Fairon until ransomed, or sold off in the slave markets there. The Faironese are considered barbarians by the Gehennese, because of their skin colour, their penchant for blood sports, their slowness to give up human sacrifice, their nudity taboo, and their trousers and sleeves.
