Daimons are capable of bearing children to, and of begetting children upon, members of mortal races. These offspring are demi-gods. They are almost always outstanding specimens of the type of their mortal parent, and often enjoy the favour and protection of their divine parent. Many heroes and the founders of many lines of anaxoi are reputed demi-gods.

It is firmly believed that twins are the result of a woman conceiving with a man and a daimon during the same ovulation. In some accounts (or, possibly, instances) one of the twins is begotten by each father, so one is a demi-god and teh other an ordinary human, but in other accounts or instances each twin has both a divine and a mortal father.
