In Gehennum, corpses are nearly always cremated in short order after the death. If the relatives are not available or not able to conduct a funeral it is the duty of the local authorities to burn the corpse decently. After the cremation the bones are usually buried or placed in a family tomb. It is not the custom to bury significant valuables with a corpse, though personal effects are sometimes burned on the pyre.
